  • Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager

    We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager to support our continued development of Lancer Scott Construction West Ltd based in Cardiff. We are committed to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance across all our projects, so you will need to hold a high level of construction industry experience. You will report to our HSQE Lead and work closely with the Directors to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards, so you will need to be a good communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. You will take ownership and will need to be able to take a methodical and clear approach using a high level of IT skills.

    You will be based in our Cardiff city centre office, with travel to our project sites as required.

    Salary will be dependent on experience.

  • Operations Manager

    We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our team based in Bristol.

    The role will be working on a variety of projects across a range of clients and sectors which include retail, leisure and defence. The successful candidate will be managing a team overseeing a range of projects ranging in value from £50k up to £8million and the role is to include all aspects of the operational management from initial client instructions up to delivery and post-delivery obligations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and understand incoming briefs and enquiries from clients.
    • Liaise with clients to understand project specific information.
    • Work with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to review and refine estimates.
    • Oversee the preparation of bid packages and submission documents.
    • Oversee the Operational Management of projects
    • Managing Cost Analysis and Reporting to line manager

    If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need to have:

    • Excellent attention to detail especially when working with costs and numbers.
    • Good communication skills both written, over the phone and in person.
    • A good understanding of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • An ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivation to be a team player.

    Travel is required for the role, mainly in the South of England and the occasional overnight further afield.

    The ideal candidate will be experienced in the Construction industry and will have knowledge and experience of managing a range of projects.

  • Assistant Estimator

    We’re looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our fit-out project team based in Bristol.

    The role is working on a variety of projects focusing mainly on pub chains, but also supporting other commercial properties including vets and large retail warehouses. The successful candidate will find themselves working on a project that lasts a week and much larger £1m projects. Where no two days are the same, we’re looking for someone who wants to get involved and learn from the team. The role will mainly be office based with occasional site visits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and understand incoming briefs and enquiries from clients.
    • Liaise with clients to understand project specific information.
    • Accurately measure and complete quantity take-offs.
    • Request and evaluate sub-contractors’ quotations.
    • Compile cost documents to return to the client.
    • Work with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to review and refine estimates.
    • Assist in the preparation of bid packages and submission documents.
    • Maintain accurate records relating to estimates.
    • Track expenditure on live construction projects and report cost updates to the team.
    • Place and release purchase orders when projects go live.
    • Support the wider team with submitting variations and valuations.
    • Work with the project co-ordinator to ensure the smooth running of projects.

    If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need to have:

    • Excellent attention to detail especially when working with costs and numbers.
    • Good communication skills both written, over the phone and in person.
